"We believe in the power and potential of human relationships."
All the services in the world cannot substitute for real relationships. First In Families believes that people with disabilities absolutely need relationships now for a good life, and for their future well-being, safety and security.
There is no disability so severe that relationships with others are not possible. We believe that a network of personal relationships can be the most important source of support in our communities. Through relationships, each person has the opportunity to seek a life in which goals can be achieved and dreams become reality.
First In Families of North Carolina helps people make the connections that will make a good life possible. One way we do this is through our Lifetime Connections, which creates a bridge to the community through:
Lifetime Connections offers unique supports and future planning services to people with all types of disabilities and their families. We provide an alternative or addition to traditional services, through a comprehensive, membership based set of services tailored to each individual or family.
Join others who are committed to a world in which all our loved ones live good lives, and all our loved ones belong. As a member you will receive reduced workshop rates, special invitations and more. Read more about membership in Lifetime Connections.
The 7 Steps In 7 Sessions: Creating Peace of Mind for the Future workshop provides a small group setting in which you will be guided through reading, exercises, and discussion resulting in a personal future plan. The future planning process helps you create a safe and secure future for your family member with a disability.
